About
Take a walk down the girls’ toy aisle, and one is faced with tea sets, dolls, make up kits, and fashion sets. Toys that provide valuable skillsets like building, problem solving, and strategic thinking are not marketed as gender-neutral toys that both boys and girls can enjoy. Instead, girls’ aisles focus predominantly on nurturing, domesticity, and beauty products. Toys help to shape our view of the world and develop important skillsets. Today, a young girl's toy choices are limited and, more importantly, limiting. To address gap within the toy market, we created “Raina to the Rescue!” - a series of instructional storybooks and hands-on activities that follow a little girl named Raina and her friends in their endeavors as animal rescuers. Our product allows children to solve simple problems by reading along and completing the hands-on activity. This engages children in active learning, which increases attention levels, improves retention, and strengthens spatial skills.
